Lada 1118 sedan (Lada Kalina) - production of the sedan model began in 2004, two years earlier than the hatchback. Two years earlier, in 2011, the production of the four-door was stopped. This is primarily due not only to the decline in popularity, but also to the launch of the new Lada Granta model, which, at a comparable price, surpassed Kalina both technically and in terms of equipment.
The wheelbase length of the sedan is the same as that of the hatchback and station wagon. The spaciousness of the passenger compartment for all three models is also the same, but in terms of trunk volume, the sedan is the undisputed leader - 400 liters against 235 liters (hatchback) and 350 liters (station wagon). Nevertheless, for the transportation of bulky goods, five-doors are, of course, more preferable.
At one time, Lada 1118 became the first model of the brand that reached a new quality level both in terms of build quality and ergonomics, as well as in terms of the list of additional equipment. In 2007, the car received a modernized sixteen-valve engine with a lightweight connecting rod and piston group. With a volume of 1.4 liters, the "aspirated" produced 89 hp. and 127 Nm of torque. In addition, in 2008, buyers had the opportunity to equip the car with both ABS and front airbags.
Now the remnants of four-doors equipped with a long-lived engine - an eight-valve “four” with a volume of 1.6 liters (81 hp, 120 Nm) are being sold. The gearbox is a five-speed "mechanics".
