Lada 1119 hatchback (Lada Kalina) - the first generation of the model, produced from 2006 to 2013 inclusive. The trunk volume (235 l) of the hatchback is not the most spacious compared to the station wagon (350 l) and the sedan (400 l), but thanks to the high opening with the rear seats folded down, it is ready to take very bulky loads.

The model is offered in three basic trim levels: "Standard", "Norma" and "Lux". The advantages of the middle and top versions are the ability to install ABS, front airbags, and air conditioning. In addition, the "Lux" equipment provides improved velor upholstery for seats and door panels.

The range of engines consists of an already middle-aged 1.6-liter eight-valve engine (81 hp, 120 Nm) and a more modern 1.4-liter sixteen-valve unit (89 hp, 127 Nm), whose production began in 2007 . Lightweight pistons, longer connecting rods, and steel intake manifold and block head gaskets were used in the design of the new engine, making the 1.4-liter engine lighter and more economical than the “eight-valve” engine. If with a 1.6-liter engine the hatchback consumes 7.8 liters of gasoline per hundred kilometers, then with a "sixteen valve" - ​​exactly 7 liters.

In addition, the modern engine makes Kalina more dynamic (12.5 s to "hundreds" versus 13 s for a model with an eight-valve "four"). However, the peak torque of the 1400cc engine is available at the top (4200rpm), while the 1600cc engine delivers a maximum thrust of 120Nm already at 2500rpm.
